"God saw all that he had made, and it was very good." ~Genesis 1:31

The Beginning

My name is Jim Senay. It was about 1989 while I was attending a missionary conference at my church that God started a very unusual work in my life. I was asked to make an announcement after the missionaries introduced themselves. As a joke, I introduced my wife and myself as missionaries to the Fast Food Restaurants in Northeastern Ohio. Be careful what you say.

About five years later, my wife and I were at another missionary conference. We were so moved during the services that we both went forward to dedicate our lives to be missionaries. I can still remember the look on peoples faces. My wife and I were in our late fifties. "But, what are they among so many?"

In February 2002, my wife and I were in a local restaurant. I decided that after the server brought  our food, I would ask her if there was anyone that she would like us to pray for while we were thanking God for our food. "Yes," she said and gave us the name of a relative. Since then my wife and I have talked to over a thousand servers who have shared stories of personal tragedies and sorrows with their requests for prayer.

I am constantly surprised how open and happy people are to share their most painful heartaches with a perfect stranger who expresses a sincere concern for them. Far from being offended, as many might fear, multitudes are anxious to share their burdens when they see that we care.

We now leave a "We Prayed for You" card and a gospel tract with our tip when we leave the restaurant. These cards contain a testimony of the love of God and an invitation to our local church.
